Take it to the next level Tuesday : March 18th, 2014

Thanks to my wonderful hubby I'm taking my fitness to the next level. He bought me the Target exclusive "violet" Fitbit Flex! Fitbit is described as: "Be healthier and more active with Fitbit. Track daily activity, calories burned, sleep & weight. Upload wirelessly & see progress on mobile and online dashboard."

Basically FitBit Flex is a wristband that connects through wifi to a computer based dashboard that tracks your daily, and nightly activity and shows you calories burned, steps taken and your mileage and can monitor your sleeping patterns. It's a nark on your wrist!

This is what mine looks like:

Yesterday I got it charged up and ready to go at noon. From that point, until I went to bed, I burned 1,871 calories and took 4,175 steps. The goal is to burn more calories than I take in and walk 10,000 steps. I will make that my next goal! 10,000 steps a day!

Another new thing in my life is that I've left the Flat Rock Relay for Life and joined the Monroe Relay for Life. I'm no longer a committee member, but I've started a new team called, "Sweat for Survival". I saw the name online and when I googled it I also found this:

It was made by a Relay team from Texas. I'm not sure if it's copyrighted or not, but I'm going to use it because it's awesome! I want my team to see health and fitness as a way to combat cancer. I think it's a great fit don't you?
